So, funny enough, this post has been one of my hardest to compose. I knew what God wanted me to write about, but every time I sat down to write ideas, find scripture, or jot any sort of truth down I would be stumped on how to start, or too lazy to brainstorm, or too tired to research, the excuses are endless, but finally I found comfort in expelling distraction’s hold on me by saying “not. today. satan.”
Satan has a funny way of creeping into your heart and mind, leading you astray, corrupting and hindering your vision, and instilling doubt in the corners of your brain where doubt has no place. ~BUT~ lucky for us we have a sovereign, almighty, all-powerful, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, fighting for us and pursuing us every single day of our lives!! There are 788,280 words in the bible, 788,280 powerful statements of truth; of those 788,280 words over 4,000 of them are the word “but,” and this word becomes infinitely more powerful when it is used paired with the powerful name of the Lord.
“But GOD” is used 45 times in the bible – each verse more powerful than the next. Some of my favorite include:
Genesis 50:20 – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Psalm 73:26 – “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Isaiah 40:8 – “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Matthew 19:26 – “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'”
Acts 2:24 – “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.”
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
All of these statements prove to us over and over again that God is stronger than any wrath the devil thinks he has over us; that God, day in and day out, is fighting for us. Constantly yearning for us to see our worth; constantly yearning for us to look to Him and see ourselves as He sees us. He wants us to scream from the mountains “Not Today Satan,” because He gave us, and still today is giving us, power over satan.
So I challenge you all today – instead of letting fear and worry impede on your life rest in the fact we have a Savior fighting for us daily; letting us know that what ever trials we may face He is with us (Matt. 1:23), He is for us (Romans 8:31), and He will reign forevermore (Exodus 15:18)!
Lately, I myself have struggled with finding rest in His Peace and Comfort, but even in my darkest times I am thankful for the power The Lord gives me to not just say “not today satan,” but “not EVER satan!!!”

Thank you for this blog, Lexi. Because of you, I am living today in complete confidence that God has everything under control. Not Today Satan.
